Natural remedies for high blood pressure in traditional medicine

Many adults around the world suffer from high blood pressure.  According to some medical researches,  half of adults now have high blood pressure. Experts recommend treating the disease by changing your lifestyle. Here are some natural remedies for high blood pressure.

  • Basil

Cardamom is a kind of spice that comes from India . In a small study of 20 people on the health effects of cardamom, it was found that participants with high blood pressure saw a significant reduction after consuming 1.5 grams of its powder twice a day for about twelve weeks. You can use cardamom seeds or its powder in spices, soups and stews and even cooked foods for its special taste and health benefits.


  • Garlic

This spicy spice not only flavors your food but also makes your breath stink. Garlic may be able to lower blood pressure by increasing a substance in the body called nitric oxide, which can relax and dilate blood vessels. This allows blood to flow more freely.


  • Ginger

Ginger can help you to lower your high blood pressure. Animal studies have shown that it improves blood circulation and relaxes the muscles around the arteries. ginger is a versatile food that can be added to sweets. Chop fresh ginger and add to French fries, soups and pasta or vegetables, or add a refreshing flavor to deserts or tea.

This plant has long been used in traditional medicine to lower blood pressure. The aerial stem or foliage of this plant contains two types of glycosides. It has been observed that intravenous injections of these two substances can lower blood pressure.


  • Sour tea (Roselle)

Sour tea is another famous plant in traditional medicine that has been studied extensively for its effect on lowering blood pressure. The leaves, flowers and wreaths of this plant are used in traditional medicine in many African countries for various medicinal and even oral purposes. The extract of this plant seems to dilate blood vessels through a mechanism similar to histamine and acetylcholine.
